Ismail A. Shalaby, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Shalaby is the co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer for NEMA Research. His primary role is recruiting Clinical Trial Sponsors to participate with NEMA Research Inc.'s extensive clinical panel of physician researchers. He formerly managed drug discovery teams for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and ischemic stroke for Pfizer. His research led to the discovery and licensing of various drugs, including Aricept (for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease). Dr Shalaby holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology (Neuropharmacology and Neuroscience) from The University of Chicago and an M.D. from The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine where he focused on Ophthalmology and Ophthalmic surgery. He continues to have an active clinical practice as well as participating in Clinical Research and Clinical Trials with NEMA Research.
